In September 2024, our city was hit by a hurricane. Our community experienced extensive loss during this time, from damaging homes, schools, and businesses. Open Door was affected in many ways as well. We had to close our doors for almost 3 weeks, and our largest annual fundraiser was canceled. In addition, our campus was damaged, destroying the shade that covers our playground. A large portion of previous years’ fundraising money was spent on purchasing and installing that playground shade, needed to keep our students cool during those hotter Georgia months. In order to fix the shade as soon as possible for our students, we decided it was best to use money from our school’s savings. Open Door’s Board of Trustees has created this GoFundMe page to help our school replenish the money in our savings that was used to fix our playground shade. We are aiming to eventually raise $14,000 to cover what it has cost to rebuild our shade. Every little bit counts, and no donation is too small. Your support will make a huge difference in helping us bring our playground back to life! Thank you so much.
We are doing a great new fundraiser that will prove helpful to our teachers and parents alike! Oliver's Labels is a great way to label all of your kiddos' items for school, extracurricular activities, and playdates. ODP gets 20% of every order, and you don't have to be part of the school to order! Use the link below to help raise some money for ODP!!
As a nonprofit organization, the preschool is only able to cover a portion of its expenses through tuition. The rest of the operating funds come from grants and individual donations.
The preschool has many needs and likes to provide the students with creative supplies and toys as well as introduce them to new experiences whenever possible. Art supplies, play equipment and books are always welcome! Please contact the school to ask which types of donations are most needed.
